E – N – L – I – G – H – T – E – N – M – E – N – T
is a very big word, too big to hug your arms around and even if you turn it vertically it’s then too tall!
But enlightenment is big for a very good reason because it carries with it an even bigger meaning, normally used for those moments that pack a life-changing punch. Like looking out over the world beneath you from the top of Mount Everest, or feeling the warmest peace inside from a thousand moments of just being and breathing.
But enlightenment also blossoms from the smaller things that can jump out and surprise us from nowhere. In Bhoomieland we like to call these moments “Lumenos” and we have them so frequently here that we’ve had to build a special playground for them to keep illuminating things whilst we carry on being Bhoomies (imagine a Saturday night disco filled with amazing ideas).
Lumenos are similar to what Humanland refers to as “Aha moments”, which just as easily happens from nowhere. But Nowhere usually needs a trigger to let them through because he falls asleep a lot, and that’s where a friend can turn what seems like a perfectly pleasant moment, into a mouth-popping, brain-lighting Aha!
Talking to a friend, bouncing ideas between hearts and enjoying the laughter of being with those you care about, can turn ordinary moments into life-changing realisations. Just being creative with others, feeling their enthusiasm and sharing yours in return, is one of the most powerful lights in the universe (even more than a supernova!) and can change the course of not only your life, but the lives of others too.
But don’t just take my Bhoomie words for it…one of the best friendships in history (and future) is based on the smaller moments, yet no matter how tiny, they keep changing and inspiring the lives of those who grasp it into their hearts…
